Genesis is a bold upright male displaying all the characteristics we like to see in our stud males.
He is continuing to show excellent qualities in his fleece with his latest fleece having a nice soft handle, with good style and character. His fleece still has a very good level of crimp for his age. Genesis continues to hold a relatively fine fleece into his senior years. He has inherited a natural lack of guard hair from his sire (Homestead Farm Apollo). His mother, Waratah Flats Champagne 2 is still only 24 micron in her 13th fleece with a 55.7 curve and Champagne’s mother, Waratah Flats Crystal, was only 24.2 micron in her 9th fleece and this, along with a lack of guard hair from his sire is being passed onto his offspring.
Genesis is a successful stud male with 18 of his offspring winning broad ribbons in the show ring. He himself had a very successful show career winning 10 supreme championships (four fleece and six breed) as well as several Championships and Reserve Championships.
We showed Genesis’ 11th fleece in the 2022 South Island Colourbration show where he placed 1st in the Senior White Male class. He was one of only two alpacas to score maximum points (20/20) for fineness. The only other one to score 20/20 for fineness in this show was his granddaughter Stoney Meadows Regal Lass.
